My Buildings by Sona Safaei

Whimsical and eerie all at once, this little city favourite is a haunting expression of the way urban landscapes can play with our reality, and spark our imaginations.

Sona immigrated from Iran two years ago, where she studied art at Azad University of Tehran. She is passionately dedicated to the cause of artistic freedom, contributing her work to the exhibition "Urban Jealousy", the first international roaming biennial of Tehran. Accompanying the show's stop in Berlin, she displayed tremendous solidarity with fellow persecuted Iranian artists, as well as others from around the globe. She has shown at Toronto galleries Minnow and Bass, Ben Navee, and Lennox Contemporary.
