In Loving Memory of Yulanda Yee

It is with great sadness and shock that we have discovered the passing of our beautiful and gentle friend Yulanda Yee. Yulanda, a survivor of lymphoma as a child, had been battling cancer again for about half a year now. Through it all she had been a supporter and champion of Little City. Not only had Yulanda cheerfully allowed us to share her print with you, but she was greatly encouraging of Little City even before we had a name. I remember sharing the idea with her early last year, and her advice, enthusiasm and experience were such a blessing during the creation of the site.
Yulanda and I went to Ryerson together. We got to know each other best during our curation class – painting the Ryerson gallery blue, shopping after classes and of course trying to find the best food possible. We lost touch but connected again last year over our mutual love of photography, food, travel and, of course, blogs. On a personal level, I have no words to explain how difficult it is to share this news, especially while so far from home (Emily and I are in Mexico on assignment for World Vision.) On behalf of Little City we want to say that we are proud to have been friends with Yulanda and we send our condolences and love to her friends and family.
God bless YY.

… Yulanda, definitely valued, cherished the frienship with you all. Aa her aunt, on behalf of our family, we thank you for your kindess and support.
